This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive proposals. This is not a solicitation or request for offers.

Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.

USDA Forest Service, Forest Products Laboratory intends to award a sole source award to Johnson Controls Fire Protection LP under GSA contract # 47QSHA23D0018 for full coverage to include preventative maintenance, inspections and repairs of Simplex Fire Alarm System. The original system was purchased from SimplexGrinnell, which is now a subsidiary of Johnson Controls Fire Protection LP. The contract will be for base plus 4 option years.

This purchase will be made utilizing Simplified Acquisition Procedures in accordance with: Federal Regulation (FAR) Part 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.

Interested parties may identify their interests and capability to respond to this requirement by October 27, 2023 at 12:00 (CST). Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed award upon response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. No reimbursement for any cost connected with providing capability information will be provided.
