Scope of Work – Yearly Fire Inspection
Fire Extinguishers, Fire Suppression Systems, and Fire Control Panels
Project Description:
The US Army Corps of Engineers, Physical Support Branch, requests annual and periodic inspections of all portable fire extinguishers, fixed fire suppression systems, 1 Amrex galley hook fire suppression system and 4 fire control panels. All inspections will be conducted in accordance with NFPA chapters 10 and 17A, OSHA and US Army Corps of Engineers Health and Safety Manual 385‐1‐1 requirements.
Scope of Work:
Line 1-Fountain City Service Base & 5A Warehouse-Table 1
Perform periodic inspection, to include annual inspection and an internal maintenance inspection (hydrostatic test and/or internal examination) shall be inspected at the maintenance interval as determined by OSHA 29 CFR 1910.157, on all portable fire extinguishers. This inspection shall be completed by 01 May of each calendar year of the contract, including all options. See attached list for quantities and locations of all extinguishers associated with the Fountain City Service Base. Building 3 (office building) (SIEMENS Cerberus) has a fire control panel that requires inspection, testing, and servicing. The Fountain City Service Base systems list of all extinguishers/systems is below (Table 1).
Line 2-Dredge Goetz-Table 2
Perform periodic inspection, to include annual inspection and an internal maintenance inspection (hydrostatic test and/or internal examination) shall be inspected at the maintenance interval as determined by OSHA 29 CFR 1910.157, on all portable fire extinguishers and installed systems on the Dredge Goetz Fleet, this inspection shall be completed by 01 July of each calendar year of the contract, including all options. The quarter’s barge Taggatz has one Amrex galley hood fire suppression system that requires servicing and inspection also. The Warioto (Notifier SFP-2404), General Warren (SIEMENS System 3), Goetz (Notifier AFP-200), and Taggatz (ANSUL AutoPluse IQ-301) all have Fire control panels that require inspection, testing, and servicing. See attached list for quantities and locations of all extinguishers associated with the Goetz Fleet (Table 2).

This inspection shall be completed by 01 May of each calendar year of the contract, including all options. See attached list for quantities and locations of all extinguishers associated with the Maintenance and Repair Fleet (Table 3)
The contractor shall create a report that lists any deficiencies that are found that require repairs. This report shall be sent to the Technical Points of Contract. Repairs shall not be completed without prior written approval from the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) and if the aggerated amount of the repairs exceeds $ 5,000.00 the contractor must have written approval from the Contracting Officer. All repairs must be completed within 10 working days of Contracting Officer’s approval.
