Notice of Intent to Contract with a Single Source – Engine Generator: Warehousing, Storage, and Maintenance

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) intends to award a single source contract to Kohler located in Sheboygan, WI.

The FAA proposes to contract for services for the warehousing, shipping, and maintenance of Kohler engine generators that are located in Milwaukee, WI.

In accordance with the FAA Acquisition Management System, AMS 3.2.2.4, the purpose of this announcement is to inform industry of the basis of the FAA's decision to contract with a selected source when it is determined to be in the best interest of the FAA. The engine generators are currently being stored at a Kohler warehouse in Milwaukee, WI. The engine generator equipment maintains its integrity and avoids any potential damage by remaining at its current location. In addition, trying to ship the engine generators to a new warehouse would incur additional shipping costs. Furthermore, the engine generator equipment uses Kohler’s proprietary technology. Therefore, if maintenance needs to be done it can be done by the manufacturer. Overall, Kohler is the only known source capable of providing warehousing, shipping, and maintenance of their engine generators in Milwaukee, WI. This announcement is for informational purposes only and is not a Solicitation/Request for Proposal. This requirement will be awarded to Kohler. This announcement is not available for full and open competition.
